Dividend Tree: By being denominated in dollars it will reduce the monthly variation of dividend payments by eliminating the currency conversion. Granted holders of PCY will not directly benefit in strengthening of the local currencies, however, an indirect benefit is the lower risk of default as the dollar weakens.

In my income portfolio, I prefer U.S. dollars for earnings consistency.

Best Wishes,

I understand the rationale of including foreign/emerging market govt bonds to hedge against dollar deflation.

Although PCY is emerging market govt bonds, but aren't the individual bonds in PCY denominated in dollar? If yes, doesn't it defeat the purpose of dollar hedge?
