Ok, thanks for that. Wikinvest has an error of debt/equity of 1.74, but Yahoo finance has what you corrected me with as well. Thanks.

Tom: I am not sure where you are pulling your numbers from? Based on Morningstar's info (http://financials.morningstar.com/balance-sheet/bs.html?t=WMT&region=USA&culture=en-US), Walmart's 07/10 numbers are:

Debt/equity: 0.7 = (10185+35629)/64646

As for current/quick ratio, WMT's has been under 1 since 2002, and then it was just barely over 1. To be honest, I don't focus on these ratios, but instead track free cash flow, which takes into account all the working capital changes.

Best Wishes,
D4L

I am a new prospective long term dividend stock investor and greatly value your site. I am having trouble with one concept. Debt.

Walmart has a debt/equity ratio of 1.7, which seems poor. Walmart has a current ratio less than 1, and a quick ratio less than 1. Aren't these all generally failing attributes of a company?

Thanks for the help.
