There was a false sense of security because stocks like Bank of America (BAC), Citigroup (C), Wells Fargo (WFC), and others, were large blue-chip stocks with a long string of consecutive dividend increases. Though they were deemed too big to fail, there weren’t too big to cut their dividends, and they did. Many dividend investors learned the importance of sector allocation the hard way.

Financials, Consumer Goods and Health Care offer a multitude of excellent dividend companies. So much so, I struggle to keep my allocation below the 10% level that I limit sectors to. The Energy sector is one that I have studied for some time trying to find a worthy stock to buy. I may have finally found one…

The company came into its own about the time people said that steel production in the U.S. was dead. However, NUE could be facing its greatest challenge ….

I have been able to implement many of the great ideas that were presented by subscribers. One request that I have received over and over again has been to offer an alternative way to pay.

Most people don’t mind, and even like, PayPal, but a few others have had a bad experience with the company. Often this is hard (or impossible) to overcome. With that in mind, I spent a significant amount of time looking for an alternate company to process and collect payments. The company needed to be recognizable, have a good reputation and a large user base. Given that, Google Checkout was the logical choice.

In December, I began experimenting with Google Checkout and got comfortable enough to add it as an alternative way to subscribe. So what’s the difference between the two? As noted in the D4L-FAQ, “The PayPal option provides the most flexibility. With it you can subscribe monthly or annually. Since it is a subscription, the PayPal price you pay will not increase as long as the subscription is active. Google Checkout only offers a 12 month subscription that must be manually renewed each year at the current price – which means you could end up with a price increase from your previous subscription.” Google Checkout is working on a automatic renewing subscription, but I am not comfortable with implementing something that is labeled as ‘experimental’.

That’s a lot of information you would have to sort through just to track and analyze potential investments. Unfortunately, the information is ever-changing with each quarterly earnings release, dividend announcements and other relevant external events. What’s an investor to do if they don’t want to spend an additional 20-30 hours each week tracking and researching their investments?

Most investors find a service that is closely aligned with their investing principles and allow them to do the footwork.
D4L-Newsletter: A monthly newsletter that provides subscribers a quick overview for the upcoming month. It contains key summary information from D4L-Dashboard, Premium Links, statistical information and other commentary.

Here are a few testimonies from satisfied subscribers:

Thank you for your excellent work. Your monthly subscription is way too cheap.
After enjoying a raise for every year of my working life, I certainty missed not getting one. It made me stop and think, when I retire inflation will not stop and my expenses will continue to increase. Just to maintain my current standard of living, I will still need to see my annual income grow each year. It is not in my plans to continue working after retirement, so if I want to enjoy a rising income in my golden years, I had better start planning for it now.

I plan to rely on Dividend Growth Stocks to ensure my income continues to grow when I am no longer working. For this to work, I will need to build a solid dividend growth portfolio now, during my prime working years. Dividend growth stocks is a strategy that fits my personality well. I love to watch my annualized dividend income grow steadily each month, while not worrying about the day to day movements in my portfolio or the market.

Fortunately, I enjoy tracking hundreds of dividends stocks. If you don’t have the time or desire to do this, consider a service that is aligned with your goals such as D4L-Premium Services.

When it come to managing your money and ensuring there is enough for the kid’s education and a comfortable retirement, financial advisers aren’t losing sleep over your future. Make no mistake about it – no one cares more about your future than you. So what’s a person to do to make sure his or her future doesn’t become a bad “learning experience” or a textbook example of what not to do?

Here are a few items to consider:

1. Take Charge of Your Future.
If you are investing your own money, become a student and constantly study how you can be a better investor. If someone else invests your money, take an active role – monitor the progress, ask questions, be sure you know what they are doing with YOUR money.

2. Select a Appropriate Investment Strategy
If you are a conservative investor, penny stocks are probably not the way to go. A dividend growth strategy is what best fits my profile. I enjoy watching my annualized dividend income grow steadily each month, while not worrying about the day to day movements in my portfolio or the market.

3. Make Informed Decisions
Don’t buy or sell on a whim. There is a lot of information (and noise) out there. Things change quickly and you need to be prepared to act. If you don’t have the time or inclination to do this, find an independent third-party you trust, such as D4L-Premium Services.

D4L-Premium Services is designed to provide the busy dividend growth investor with a wealth of relevant information.
